Summer Ministry Presentations: Israel and Camp Nathanael

Summer brings many opportunities to travel and serve at camp. This Sunday, July 30th, Curtiss Street Bible Fellowship had the privilege of hearing about Abby’s time spent at Camp Nathanael in Kentucky as well as Jenni and Elena’s trip to Israel. Both presentations were given during the Sunday School hour and gave an overview of their trips and what they learned from them.

Abby shares about her time spent serving in the dining hall at Camp Nathanael in Kentucky.

Abby served at Camp Nathanael in Kentucky for five weeks this summer. She served in the dining hall as the dining room supervisor, making sure that meal times went smoothly and interacting campers and families. She learned how to lead the dining room staff and challenged herself to be patient and rely on the Lord.

Besides working in the dining hall, Abby also had a few other opportunities to serve in other places around camp. She was able to play piano during the chapel times and music and missionary times. She said that this was a stretching time and that she didn’t always enjoy it, but learned to rely on the Lord and do it for his glory.

Curtiss Street Bible Fellowship also had the opportunity to hear from Jenni and Elena. They shared about their trip to Israel this past May. They shared pictures and stories of where they went and what they encountered and their reflections on the trip.

Jenni and Elena share pictures of their trip to Israel. Check out a few pictures from their trip down below!

Jenni and Elena had the chance to see sights in Israel that we read about in Scripture. They traveled to well-known places like the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, the synagogue, Masada, Megiddo, the Dead Sea, the Jordan River and other places that the Bible talks about.

After visiting these places, they both said that they have a better picture of where theses places are and what it might have been like as they read through the Bible. It brings the Bible to life when you’ve been to these historical sites where Jesus and other biblical characters walked. What an amazing opportunity!
